The Rose Ensemble was an internationally recognized singing group based in St. Paul, MN, specializing in singing both medieval and contemporary music. They were best known for their revival and use of long-forgotten music and musical instruments. The history of the music the group performed and released in their albums was always meticulously researched and included. Their tenth album, A Toast to Prohibition: All-American Songs of Temperance and Temptation, was an homage to and celebrated songs for and against prohibition in America during that period. The design I created included the jacket for the CD and a 40-page booklet with program and historical notes and images.
